Cripps supports various charities across year

8 Jun 2021

In what has been a very tough year for the charity sector, Cripps is delighted to have raised over £13,000 for several charities over the past seven months.

The firm, which usually supports one chosen charity each year, made the decision in October 2020 to spread its support and fundraising efforts across numerous charities with a ‘charity of the month’ initiative. During this period, Cripps raised money for AspensSleep PodNourishMental Health ResourceTaylor-Made DreamsThe Hygiene Bank and The Kensington and Chelsea Foundation.

Due to the lockdowns and restrictions in place, many fundraising events were remote and involved challenges which staff could complete at home. These included raffles and competitions, as well as cycling challenges and a 5k fancy dress run. In November, a number of staff took part in a ‘sleep out’ which involved sleeping in their gardens for one night on the coldest night of the year. The firm also provided practical support, with volunteers building sleep pods and making physical donations of food and hygiene products.

Mike Scott, senior partner, commented: “It has been a really difficult year for everyone, but charities have particularly felt the challenge with a significant decrease in the amount of donations. I am thrilled that we have been able to help in some way to support so many different charities through this testing time.

Being remote has posed its own challenges for fundraising, and our charity committee have done a fantastic job pulling together such a variety of events to raise money. Being able to donate so much is a testament to the generosity of our people and says so much about the culture of our firm.”
